|Hilltop Park, aka "Skyline," where Darell took me for the first time 3 years ago.|
The date was very simple--Darell took me to a restaurant that serves large servings of food for a pretty decent price nearby to church. We then went up to the park that overlooks all of LA where we first went when we first started dating. We reminisced a lot and it was fun just being silly with him. We then did another thing we used to do when we first started dating: going to pet stores just for fun.
Darell and I both love animals, so we went over to the pet store nearby to pass the time by looking at all the different animals. I was sad that we didn't see any dogs we could pet or play with.
Afterward we wanted to get dessert so we went to the Fresh & Easy across the street to buy strawberry mochi, yum [: Unfortunately we couldn't think of any other ways to pass the time so we went to church.
I enjoyed the community groups this week; I'm really enjoying getting to know the pastor's wife, who is only three years older than me! It's nice to have a girlfriend in the church because I've been hanging out with so many guys lately. She seems so nice!
After hanging out with the guys and a couple new friends I made at the nearby Starbucks, I drove home. I ended this already wonderful day skyping with my old roommate and catching up with her on her mission trip to China that she just came back from. It's making me so much more excited for what God can do through me in Peru! I'll be out of my comfort zone, but I know that it will all be an adventure, indeed.
I'm so thankful for everything that I've been doing lately. I've been spending time with some amazing people and becoming even closer friends with my boyfriend of three years. On top of that, I'm about to embark on the trip of a lifetime, doing big things for God.
I'm thankful for all he's given me. And because my anniversary with Darell just passed, I definitely want to acknowledge how thankful I am for him being in my life. Although we have so many differences and butt heads a lot, we sure do make a great team. We've even talked about being a dynamic duo--he does film and I do writing. Haha. It sounds great, but we'll see what happens. Until, then, I'm just thankful to have a lover and best friend all rolled into one.
