I am now two days away until I leave for Peru. While I was out with Darell, my new friends I mentioned last week, and the pastor and his wife (they're so cool, they're only a few years older than me), I found out from a fellow teammate that my trip for Peru is paid!
On Wednesday, I found out that I still needed $174 for my Peru trip by today, Friday. In a state of urgency, I posted on my Facebook and Twitter, asking if anyone else was interested in donating financially to my trip. That same teammate, Christian, screenshotted (that's not even a real word haha) my post and posted it on his own Facebook! That boy has such a genuine and giving heart. A couple of his friends responded and donated to my trip! It was crazy!
By yesterday morning, I found out that I only needed $18 for the trip. At that point, I wasn't worried because I would then just put in the rest myself if necessary. At the end of the day I found out that the trip was fully paid & I was ecstatic! Wow, God is so great, isn't he? I prayed and asked for him to come through and provide for me and he did! It's amazing. On top of that, I was originally going to use some extra money I got from working at the OC Marathon a month ago for my pocket money while there. I call Vanguard (my school) to pay off a fine from something in my room when I checked out and the lady tells me it was covered by my cleaning deposit I submitted last year. Because it was so little, the rest got refunded back to me! Instead of the $100 I was originally planning to take, I now have a little more than that, more than I expected!
God is just amazing. Sheesh, when you ask him to come through & test him on it, he will, I promise. I am now even that much more excited for what is going to happen out there in Peru, what God will do to test myself and my team and reveal things to us that we could never imagine. Whatever it is, I'm ready for it.
I'll try to update as much as possible while I'm there but in lieu of my often posting, I'll have a couple guest bloggers while I'm gone. After Peru I'm leaving to be a camp counselor for a camp as well so I will be gone for three weeks instead of two. However, don't fear! If you'd like to follow me on this journey over the next three weeks, follow me on Instagram or Twitter! I'll update more soon. Thanks for your support ya'll, I really appreciate you guys. <3
